Solheim began as a small family farm built in the 1930s, complete with potato fields, livestock and strawberry patches beloved by neighborhood children. By the time the Grundel family discovered the property in 2018, the original barn had deteriorated dramatically — weather-beaten, leaning, and nearly reclaimed by nature. Instead of demolishing it, they chose to preserve and revive the remaining structure. Working closely with skilled local craftsmen, they rebuilt the house, keeping original walls and details wherever possible. Today, the villa stands as a blend of contemporary comfort and rural legacy, honouring its past while offering a new life shaped by care and craftsmanship.
